Good unit, no shelf for reading a book?

By zoso (slc, ut) on Apr 1, 2009
So far, it seems all details are thought of on this machine, but to not put a good shelf/ledge for a book/magazine seems silly.

Treadmill is excellent, assembly a nightmare!

By Content in Tom's River (New Jersey) on Apr 9, 2009
I really am pleased with the treadmill. It is everything I expected and I use it daily. However, if you decide to assemble it yourself have a full set of tools. I had to re drill two of the holes to make everything fit. It did it myself and it took about 2 hours and some rather strong vocabulary!

Like the unit...but, had issue with engine bolts

By ddubbs (Bethel, CT) on Apr 9, 2009
I have had a few minor knee surgeries and can no longer run outside on the pavement. This treadmill absorbs the impact very well and I can run every day with no problems. The on screen display is great and I really like the custom programs. The one issue I had was that in the first 30 days the en... (Read more)

 great buy

By jenn921 (bellevue,NE) on Apr 9, 2009
I got this treadmill as a Christmas gift. I am currently training for a half marathon so I am putting this treadmill threw a beating! I run long distances six days a week. And it is staying strong! I love the cushioning in the surface. I actually went to the gym and ran on a commercial treadmil... (Read more)

 Good but not perfect

By Tom (Northeast Ohio) on Apr 10, 2009
I may not be the best to judge since this is the first treadmill I've ever bought or even used. The construction of this machine is great. If there is ever a tornado, I'll sit on the treadmill under the console instead of going to the basement. The machine is quite heavy and very difficult for one p... (Read more)

 decent when it works

By chitown (chicago, il) on Apr 10, 2009
This treadmill is extremely heavy and requires 2 persons to move/put together. Like a previous reviewer said the wiring is very short. It is barely long enough to connect. There were also a few missing holes that were required for screws. After assembling treadmill, it did not work. After calling ... (Read more)

 Solid construction, easy to use

By MichiganRunner (Farmington Hills, MI) on Apr 12, 2009
I use this for marathon training and have found it very durable for the amount of pounding it takes. My wife uses it for walking and also finds it very easy to use. The start-up is fast. Speed and incline are instantly adjustable. There are a lot of extras on this machine which we don't really u... (Read more)

 Nice Piece of Equipment

By DaveB (Atlanta, GA) on May 4, 2009
This unit is a little larger than I expected, but not a big deal since I had the room. This is a rugged and versitile machine. The ability to create and store your own programs is nice. Using it with the i-fit cards is quite simple, just hit start, and you're off. The speakers sound good with my MP3... (Read more)

I think I need to call customer service...

By HappyEnough (Cortland, NY) on May 20, 2009
As others noted, it is heavy and awkward, in some instances, to assemble alone. Definitely easier with a second person. I had to laugh when it warned to not overtighten screws. I was barely able to tighten most of them fully, as if the pre-drilled hole was insufficient. And yes, the wiring barely ex... (Read more)

Be aware of these things before you buy

By Vermont Rob (Colchester, VT) on May 23, 2009
We just received this treadmill directly from NT. Delivery was smooth - no problems. It is big as you might expect so have some muscle handy. Running on it is very nice and smooth. We just replaced a 5-year old NT C2050 that decided it was done working. Here are some things to be aware of:1. Th... (Read more)

 It's bigger than I thought

By Mike (Snowflake, AZ) on Jan 29, 2009
this machine is bigger than I expected. I saw some good reviews online so I decided to try it without seeing it in the store. The space saver design is pretty cool and it doesn't take much effort to fold. Pulling the pin to lower it is a little difficult but I'm sure that's so kids won't pull it and... (Read more)

 A2550 is everything you need

By Leroy (Bronx, NY) on Jan 29, 2009
This year I decided it was time to lose some weight. I'm about 265 and need to get down to about 195. The A2550 doesn't have any trouble spinning the belt while I'm on it. Even if I'm just walking it goes just fine. I've heard walking is harder for the engine than running because it takes more torqu... (Read more)

 I love it!!

By Apes (Massillon, OH) on Feb 17, 2009
I bought this machine at Sears for only $999. It was on sale. It is pretty quiet for a treadmill and it is longer than some of the cheaper models. It also came with an ifit promo to show you how you can get these programs and plug them in and it will walk you through your weight loss and help you ac... (Read more)

Good treadmill value for the money

By balz1472 (Downers Grove, IL (suburban Chicago)) on Feb 26, 2009
After doing a bunch of research, I came to the 9i as the best for the money. We brought it home and I was able to assemble it and get it going rather easily. The catch was getting it down the stairs. It is EXTREMELY heavy so it takes at least two people to move it. Running has been great, the be... (Read more)
